As u practice loosening &letting go of those attachments u have,eg.being too attached to material possessions, to people, your emotions or ur views of the world, then u will begin to replace pride with humility. If u r still attached to ur body, ur looks, youth, wealth or anything, there's no way u can be humble.
Letting go will open up ur mind and ur heart to wonderful lessons life has offer u.It will take u off the defensive bcz u will begin to see that these lessons r never designed to hurt or humiliate u,or to make u embarrassed
If u can accept yourself for who u are, then every moment in lyf bcms an opportunity or simply an experience along the way.
Pride is alwz boasting, alwz talking, so it's impossible to hear what anyone else is saying. Pride makes us think we r the knowledgeable one,the intelligent one,the better 1.Pride makes u closed so that u lose the chances to receive. But with humility ,whatever people say, u listen &accept it and ,in this way,u develop much faster than with pride.
Laugh at your self, don't need to proud of ur skills or achievements. This doesn't in any way mean they aren't important, but rather than defining who u r they become tools with which u can do ur best work..eg.,ur skill might be wid computers..u might be better than good, u might be an expert, but u shouldn't be proud.Perhaps u r terrible singer, and comes to sing u can't exactly boast that u r a computer whiz. It's good to laugh about this-so what if we're useless at something..? It's good to know there are times when we r an expert and times we r a nobody, we're all the same tym in respect. And with this understanding, pride soon goes down. For many people ,being useless at things is source of great discouragement But I think that is because of our pride is getting in the way ,our ego is hurt and this either makes us rather brittle and defensive about our weaknesses or makes us feel we r useless as a person. So if we can release our attachments to all these we do, then it no longer matters if we r great expert or not ..
Don't feel so bad ..we realize it's a good idea to make the most of our talents for the benefit of every one but it's no longer necessary to feel bad at all about things we may be less good at.
The other important thing is to be patient, for the practice of patience is the main door to enlightenment.. Patience creates space to think and room for to breathe..in an argument, patience creates a gap so that u may, find a compromise or acceptance..
